Chelsea target Hulk keen on Premier League switch

Porto forward Hulk admits that he is keen on a move to either the Premier League or La Liga, citing them as the biggest leagues in the world.

The 26-year-old, who has scored an impressive 52 goals in 96 league appearances for the Portuguese giants, has been linked with a number of club this summer including Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

After representing Brazil at the Olympic Games, the forward has turned his attention back to domestic football and has listed England as one of his preferred destinations. "I have left a door open for being transferred to another league," Hulk told reporters.

"I have preference for playing in the Premier League or the Spanish Liga, because they are the two leagues that are the most seen all over the world.

"I didn't talk too much with my agent about the chance of being transferred, because I have been on duty with the Brazilian national team at the Olympics.

"This could be the time for me to move. I would feel comfortable with moving clubs and the English league is one that appeals to me."

With a release clause of £78 million [€100m], it would appear that only the biggest clubs stand a chance of securing highly rated Brazilian, and the striker admitted that discussions will take place with his agent at the beginning of next week.

"I am going to talk about my future from Monday," he stated. "My future is in the hands of God."

Manchester City Enter Race For £35m Chelsea Target Hulk

Manchester City are preparing to challenge Chelsea for the signature of Brazilian striker Hulk, it has emerged.

The west London club have been tracking the Porto forward for some time but are yet to agree a deal for the 26-year-old, with City now ready to pounce.

The Premier League Champions want to sign Arsenal’s Robin van Persie but boss Roberto Mancini is growing increasingly concerned that the Dutchman favours either a move to either Juventus or Manchester United.

Mancini has told the club’s hierarchy that if they miss out on van Persie, he wants Hulk to lead the line next season.

It is understood that Porto will demand in excess of £40 million for the forward, who has a buy-out clause believed to be in the region of £80 million.

Hulk is currently in the UK with the Brazilian Olympic squad and any deal is unlikely to be completed until the conclusion of the Games.

Mancini is determined to land a new striker this summer after becoming concerned about the efficiency of Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli.

Hulk has scored 52 goals in 96 appearances for Porto in the Primiera Liga.

City, meanwhile, must ship out Tottenham target Emmanuel Adebayor before they can bring in a new face but are struggling to shift the Togo forward, who is demanding a £4 million pay-off to leave Eastlands.

Hulk tells PSG: I want to join Chelsea

Porto striker Hulk says he does not want to move to PSG - as he holds out for a move to Chelsea.

The 25-year-old looked set for a £38m move to Stamford Bridge recently but the potential deal has been held up as the two clubs continue to discuss terms over the fee.

Hulk is eager to join Chelsea and has spoken of his intention to play in west London - but PSG are in the running too.

The Ligue 1 club, banked by ambitious Qatari owners, want to sign Hulk but he says he doesn't want to move to Paris, with Chelsea his favoured destination.

Hulk told reporters "Chelsea are the champions of Europe and any player would like to go there.

"I would like to go there more than any other club. But I have to remember that I have a contract at Porto and I am very happy here too.

My future is in Porto's hands, says Chelsea target Hulk

The Brazil international has been linked with a move for Stamford Bridge ever since Andre Villas-Boas moved to Chelsea from the Estadio do Dragao last summer, and reports have built up pace since the end of the Premier League campaign.

Reports of a £38 million bid submitted by the Stamford Bridge has been speculated widely, but, as far, no move as materialised and Hulk has revealed that he is happy to stay at Porto.

"I leave everything in the hands of Porto,” Hulk told O Jogo.

“I am under contract and I have been happy at Porto for four years, where I have achieved everything.

"I'll have the club in my heart no matter what happens this summer or in any other summer.

Chelsea have already delved significantly into the transfer market following the impending arrivals of Eden Hazard, Marko Marin and Kevin De Bruyne.

Tottenham Will Challenge Chelsea For Hulk If Andre Villas-Boas Is Appointed As Boss

Porto are reportedly expecting Tottenham Hotspur to challenge Chelsea for their in-demand forward Hulk.

The Brazil international is expected to leave the Estádio do Dragão this summer, and it is believed the Blues are leading the race to sign the 25-year-old.

However according Record, Porto are confident Spurs will battle it out with Chelsea for Hulk’s signature if André Villas-Boas becomes the new manager at White Hart Lane.

Hulk was part of AVB’s Porto side that won the quadruple in the 2010-11 campaign, and the 34-year-old trainer admitted that he wanted to bring the player to Stamford Bridge when he was in charge of the west London club last season.

Scarred by Chelsea’s sixth place finish, Blues owner Roman Abramovich appears to be on a summer spending rampage. Eden Hazard and Mirko Marin have already joined and reports suggest that Wigan’s Victor Moses is also on the west Londoners’ radar.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is notoriously thrifty by comparison and the last players Tottenham signed were free-transfers Ryan Nelsen and Louis Saha.

There is simply no way the north Londoners, who suffer due to their comparatively small stadium, could match the kind of transfer fee and wages Chelsea would be willing to spend on Hulk.

This is more than likely an elaborate media stunt by Porto to push up the price of their star asset.

Chelsea not the only team chasing Hulk

The 25-year-old has been linked with a big money move to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea look to rebuild their squad ahead of next season.

Hulk's agent Teodoro Fonseca, however, has denied that any deal has been agreed and also insists his client would be happy to remain in Portugal if Porto do not wish to sell him.

The former Tokyo Verdy forward has been offered a new contract after helping Porto to a second consecutive league title during the 2011-12 season. "The Blues [Chelsea] are not the only European club interested and at the moment it all depends on Porto," Fonseca told Record.

"I am in permanent contact with president Pinto Da Costa but there have been no advances on this subject.

"The club want him to stay and we have received the offer of a new deal.

If Hulk stays in Porto then there is no problem as he is happy in Porto.

"He has had three years of interest from big European clubs and he still plays in Portugal." Hulk would be the third significant signing made by Chelsea so far this summer, with deals to bring midfielders Marko Marin and Eden Hazard already agreed.
