Carroll will only leave Liverpool for Newcastle

Reports reaching us claims Andy Carroll will only leave Liverpool if it's for a return to former club Newcastle.

West Ham had a season-long loan bid, believed to be around £2million, accepted for the England striker on Monday evening.

The deal could see the Hammers then pay up to £17million in 12months' time, should the east London club stay in the Premier League.

Former side Newcastle had a £13million bid rejected earlier this summer as Liverpool look to get back more of the £35million they paid for him in January 2011.

But it's now understood that the Three Lions hitman is so desperate for a Tyneside return he is prepared to stay at Liverpool, rather than join West Ham, even though he knows he is not wanted at the club.

BARCELONA are eyeing a shock raid for Yohan Cabaye

The Spanish giants are weighing up whether to make an £8million bid for Newcastle’s Cabaye, 26, or French midfield team-mate Yann M’Vila, 22.

However sources at the Catalan club say they are leaning more towards Cabaye, who only joined the Magpies last summer on a five-year deal for £4.3m from Lille.

Toon boss Alan Pardew would be reluctant to lose Cabaye but fears Barca’s interest will leave him unsettled.

NEWCASTLE are set to miss out on Twente’s Luuk de Jong, who will join Borussia Monchengladbach.

Blues set to battle Newcastle for Debuchy

Lille's Euro 2012 star right-back was expected to join the Toon this summer but is now being linked with a £6m move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants to carry on his summer spending spree - and is ready to snatch France right-back Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle.

Lille star Debuchy, 26, was expected to move to St James' Park this summer. But his performance for France against England at Euro 2012 turned heads at both Chelsea and Italian giants Inter Milan.

Newcastle still hope to get their man, but the Blues are keen to strengthen at Debuchy's position after freeing Jose Bosingwa at the end of the season.

Ajax's Gregory van der Wiel has long been on Chelsea's wish list, but a swoop for £6m-rated Debuchy would be seen as outstanding business.

Chelsea, who this week confirmed hugely successful caretaker boss Robert Di Matteo as their permanent manager on a two-year deal, have already bought midfielders Eden Hazard of Lille and Marko Marin of Werder Bremen this summer for a combined £40m.

Chelsea to Make £18m Offer for Newcastle United Winger

Chelsea’s transfer tank rumbles on with Newcastle wizard Ben Arfa new £18m target Hatem Ben Arfa is next on the list of Roman Abramovich’s transfer targets as Chelsea’s Russian owner looks to add more flair to his squad.

He appointed Roberto Di Matteo as full time manager with a two-year contract on Wednesday and is providing him with plenty of fire-power.

Chelsea have already acquired Marko Marin and Eden Hazard to bolster their attacking midfield options but Newcastle’s twinkle-toed Frenchman is next.

Blues representatives have approached Newcastle to enquire about the player and Chelsea believe they can procure him for around £18million – although Newcastle will demand more than £26m.

Alan Pardew is very much in danger of seeing his Newcastle United side become a victim of their own success.

Having taken his Magpies side from the lower reaches of the Premier League table up towards the top four a number of the club’s top performers are now being tracked by prospective suitors and the St James’ Park boss will have a tough job on his hands preventing owner Mike Ashley looking to cash in on a player sale or two.

With Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse, Yohan Cabaye and Cheick Tiote all likely to interest a number of sides now it appears that Chelsea are keen on French winger Hatem Ben Arfa, who’s good form last term helped secure a spot in Laurent Blanc’s Euro 2012 squad.

The former Marseille man has bounced back following a serious injury and scored a couple of wonder goals last season as well as producing consistently effective displays.

Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo may feel the need to bring in new wide options given that Florent Malouda is getting on in years and Daniel Sturridge reportedly wants more of a central role.

Marko Marin has been brought in but perhaps Ben Arfa will offer another possible attacking presence to the Stamford Bridge squad.
