United and Juventus target "Llorente" seeking Bilbao exit

Athletic Bilbao president Josu Urrutia has confirmed that Fernando Llorente does not want to renew his contract with the La Liga side.

The 27-year-old striker's current deal is due to expire at the end of the 2012/13 campaign, and the Basque club were keen to extend the Spain international's stay.

However, Llorente has seemingly set his sights on a transfer amid interest from some major European clubs, and will not extend his contract with last year's Europa League and Copa del Rey finalists.

"Llorente has told us that he does not want to renew his contract with the club," Urrutia told reporters.

"In case Llorente leaves the club, we will not sign another attacker. I can tell all clubs that want to sign one of our players that we are not a selling club.

They will have to pay a player's buy-out clause." Serie A champions Juventus as well as Manchester United have been heavily linked with Llorente.

Athletic Bilbao star set to snub Man United and Man City

Manchester United and Manchester City look set for a massive transfer snub - with Javi Martinez close to joining Bayern Munich.

The German giants are still reeling from their Champions League heartbreak to Chelsea and now they're planning on a squad overhaul this summer - with Martinez in their sights.

City and United both want the Athletic Bilbao star, who is currently at Euro 2012 with Spain.

Indeed, City believed they would sign the defensive midfielder but it appears their move has been hijacked.

Munich have approached Bilbao and are keen on striking a deal quickly, with Martinez said to be open to a switch to Germany.

The 23-year-old, who can also play in the centre of defence, would command a fee in excess of £25m.

Bayern can pay that with no problem and they are increasingly confident of landing Martinez.

Llorente would cost £30m, Bilbao warn Man City

Manchester City have been fired a warning shot by Athletic Bilbao over Fernando Llorente.

Bilbao insisted they will not be willing to let their prized marksman go for anything less than his release clause - a whopping £30million.

Llorente has been linked with a number of clubs as well as City after an impressive season, despite signing a new long-term contract.

His current deal has a buyout clause of £29million, and Bilbao have reiterated their unwillingness to budge on a fee which may price him out of the market.

'He is a key player and we would not accept less, the supporters would not accept this,' said Bilbao president Josu Urrutia.

Llorente, who is part of Vicente Del Bosque's Euro 2012 Spain squad, also cooled talks of a potential move.

'Now I am only focused on the national side, my situation with Athletic has not changed,' Llorente said.

Llorente, who scored 24 goals last season and has yet to feature in Spain's Euro campaign, could replace Edin Dzeko, should the striker leave the Etihad.
