Chelsea have confirmed Kevin De Bruyne has joined Werder Bremen on a season-long loan.
De Bruyne, 21, signed a deal with Chelsea in January for £6.7 million but was loaned back to Genk for the remainder of the season.
The Belgium international has been training with the Blues this summer, but his club have moved to loan him out to ensure he gains further first-team experience.
A statement on Chelsea's official website read: "The winger will now continue his development in the Bundesliga, where he could expect to replace fellow new Chelsea recruit Marko Marin in the Bremen side."
De Bruyne is determined to make a success of his time at Werder Bremen. "It's good that the transfer to Bremen is now completed,'' he told the club's official website.
"SV Werder have a big tradition and play in one of the best leagues in Europe with full stadiums all the time. I would like to prove successful with my new team-mates.''
